The last week of July 2010 turned out to be an extremely interesting week. One day I was moving into a beautiful new apartment in Charlotte, another day I was buying a car, and on a later day I had to make a decision to defer teaching for one year.
By the first week of August I began working as a Shift Manager at Avis Budget rental cars at the airport in Charlotte. Although I loved my employees and got a free rental car... it turned out that I constantly longed to teach.
Between August 2010 and July 2011, I traveled to Las Vegas for my friend(sisters) bachelorette party, to California for her wedding, to Montego Bay, Jamaica with my honey, to Cali for a mini trip, back to Cali on a road trip from Charlotte, and finally to Minneapolis, MN this past weekend. In other words, the travel bug in me is still alive a year later.
Tomorrow I begin round zero (training) with Teach For America. I will be teaching Special Education at Harding University High School in four weeks!
Thank you friends and family for your support over this past year. Life in Charlotte is coming together for me and I am very happy. More updates to come!
